How Place 2 Place are Supporting the Covid Vaccine Rollout

The United Kingdom has been living under tight social restrictions for over a year since Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the country would be placed into lockdown on 23 March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Little were we aware at the time that just how big of an impact the new virus would have on how we would go about daily life.

In December 2020, the vaccine programme has begun and the race to vaccinate every person in the UK was underway in an attempt to return life to some kind of normalcy. As one of the top Kent taxi firms, we have been playing our role in supporting the Covid vaccine rollout by ensuring that residents can attend their appointment to receive their jab. This is something that we take great pride in and, of course, it goes without saying that we also ensure all our taxis and drivers adhere to strict Covid safety measures.

How We Are Keeping Passengers Safe

At Place 2 Place, we are adhering to Covid-secure guidelines to ensure that all passengers in our taxis are safe, as well as our drivers. This means that:

• All passengers travel only with someone from the same household and/or support bubble (unless for a permitted exemption)
• It is mandatory for all passengers (unless they are medically exempt) to wear a face covering inside the taxi – the driver can refuse entry to the vehicle if you refuse to wear one
• Solo passengers are asked to sit in the back left-hand seat to allow for as much of a safe distance as possible from the driver
• All passengers are encouraged to pay for their journey using contactless payment

All of our taxis are regularly cleaned and anti-bacterial hand gel is provided for passengers to make use of during their journey. As part of our efforts to keep our service Covid-secure, we are asking that only essential journeys are undertaken and that all passengers respect the drivers of our vehicles.

For passengers worried about being out in public, our mobile app allows you to conveniently book and track the whereabouts of your taxi. This means that whilst you wait for your driver, you can remain inside and you will receive a notification as soon as your taxi arrives. The Route Out of the Pandemic

We understand the need and desire to get back to normal which is why we are doing everything we can – both as a business in protecting our members of staff and passengers, as well as providing a means for local residents to attend their vaccination appointments. The hope is that all going well, the world will look a much different place in the coming months and we can get back to doing the things that we love.
